Environmental Responsibility

We’re always looking for new and better ways to protect the global environment in everything we do, from the materials we use to the power sources for our manufacturing facilities.

Brastilo furnishings are made using high-grade materials that are also renewable and eco-friendly. The wood products used in the manufacture of Brastilo furnishings come entirely from specially planted and managed forests located in the south of Brazil in the states of Santa Catarina, Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul.

Brastilo currently cultivates over 40,500 acres a year in our pine forests, which yield over one million cubic feet of lumber annually. When harvested, the largest pieces are used to make furniture, while smaller pieces are converted to fiberboard and paper.

We're proud of the recognition we've received for our eco-friendly initiatives. In fact, our parent company recently became one of the first Brazilian companies awarded carbon credits under the Kyoto Protocol – an important achievement, and one that underscores our commitment to protecting the environment in everything we do.

In manufacturing, we employ time-honored woodworking processes and time-consuming finger-joint techniques to create furniture that is fully finished on all sides – with the highest quality stains, fabrics, and hardware.

There are no surprises or disappointments when you buy from Brastilo. Shipping costs for furniture are included in our prices, so there are no unwelcome surprises at checkout. And because most of our furniture comes fully assembled, you won’t be searching for missing screws or trying to make sense of complicated assembly instructions. Some items are shipped with disassembled legs to prevent breakage, but the legs are easily attached.
